The latter was me: 1st inning Trout on 3rd, Torii on 1st, no outs: Pujols flies out weakly (after looking at one in his wheelhouse); Morales Ks (one of the worst games I've ever seen from him; it's as if he caught whatever Trumbo has); Howie Ks.

Kendrick was the anti-clutch. No runs. "A bad omen? " I thought to myself.

2nd inning: Vern tags one!

Then we had 1st and 3rd with one out, and Hunter and Pujols couldn't get a guy in.

But the 9th was the all-timer. Tying run at 3rd, no out and they can't get him in? Scioscia doesn't send Bourjos to lessen the chance for a DP? Morales Ks again (damn he looked clueless and/or Trumbo-ish), then Howie does his thing in the clutch: hit into a game-ending DP to end the game, and I was screaming at the TV (hence me "losing it" in the subject line). No one can hit a scoring fly ball? Mike doesn't play little ball at all anymore? Even Aybar hit a lousy pop-up bunt to the catcher, failing to move a guy over.

Hear that faint hammering noise get a bit louder? It's nails going to seal the Angels coffin for this year.

No execution in the clutch! GRRRRRRRR!

You've likely seen the game and none of this was news to you ("you" being the four people who read this newsgroup), but I'm entering it into the record for future reference.

I've got to put the blame on Kendrys, for striking out in the 1st and
9th. Howie, at least, got his bat on the ball.

This game reminded me of that Texas loss. I'm sure you know which one
I mean. Well, now we've got to go on another win streak. Didn't Jim
Fregosi have a slogan for us?
